Sensory Engagement for Sensory Beings: A Beginners Guide





This course is for people new to supporting Sensory Beings, i.e. people whose primary experience of the world, and meaning within it, is sensory, for example people with profound and multiple learning disabilities.

During the day you will learn:
  • Strategies to use to engage Sensory Beings and support the development of their cognition and communication.
  • How to ensure you are supporting mental health alongside physical health.
  • The importance of providing both structured and play filled activities.
  • How to recognise and cultivate engagement.
  • That you are not alone in your efforts to support these extraordinary and wonderful people.
  • That there are a great many superb creative practitioners ready to inspire you with new ideas so that you won't be able to wait to get started on your new sensory adventures together.
